New Facebook Page - Thea's Things

New Facebook Page – Thea’s Things

So I actually decided to launch a new Facebook Page – Thea’s Things which will be a place to showcase the Younique products that I am selling, and the Darceys Candles as well. Or it could be to promote radio shows I am doing. It will also feature new designs for my father’s Red Bubble shop (and my TNTs RB shop too).

It won’t just be about me though…It will also be a place to talk about the clients I am working with here in Scotland. It’s my chance to promote them or possibly interview them. Or perhaps a place to promote my friend’s businesses. The overall aim will simply be to post content I deem “share-worthy”.

So it won’t just be my things but things I see, watch, listen to or places I visit.

Facebook is a tough nut to crack and for that reason I had never set up a business page truly for my businesses…but now it’s a chance to practice what I preach. Besides, I can use it as a testing ground. Please give it a like or follow if you’re on Facebook. Thanks.

Celtic Music Radio Shows

Last weekend, I covered for my old friend Mike Dillon on his Singers and Songwriters show. Mike and I were colleagues in Paisley at Q96 in 1992, and have remained friends since then.

A while back he rang me up and asked me to cover for him, and so I did. Naturally, I had a blast, as I don’t get to do “live radio” very often – let alone play all my fave tracks of the moment.

Good news! I’m doing his show again the first Friday in November…so trying to find some more new tracks now. Here’s the playlist from 6 October 2017:

HOUR 1
1. TOM PETTY – American Girl
2. STEVIE NICKS – Free Fallin’
3. TAYLOR KNOX – Running Into Love
4. JON & ROY – Runner
5. JOSEPH – Blood & Tears
6. DREW HOLCOMB & THE NEIGHBORS – California
7. BEACH FOSSILS – This Year

9.  JOSHUA LEE – Drift
10. THE NATIONAL – Nobody Else Will Be There
11. VANCE JOY – Lay It On Me
12 CIGARETTES AFTER SEX – Sweet

HOUR 2
1. PAPER COMPASS – Slow Down
2. SLOW DANCER – It Goes On
3. JOSHUA RADIN – Falling (Acoustic)
4. CANYON CITY – Find You
5. BENJAMIN BOOKER – Believe

Join Me Live on Celtic Music Radio – October 6 from 10pm (UK) 2pm (PST)

If you love hearing new music then why don’t you join me tomorrow October 6. I’ll be live on Celtic Music Radio from 10pm (UK) 2pm (PST) filling in again for my old radio buddy Mike Dillon. His show is called Singers and Songwriters and I’ll be sharing some of the top tracks I’ve discovered this year and I’ll throw in some classics too.

Of course, I’ll have to throw in some Tom Petty given his untimely departure this week.

I don’t normally post/tweet/share things when musicians or actors pass but for Tom, I did.

Tom Petty was the number one person who I had yet to see LIVE in concert. I really assumed I would have, eventually, but now that won’t happen. I can’t believe it.

Thankfully his music lives on. I can console myself, a little, by listening to his last show in So-Cal just about a week ago…

Musical Melange

So the radio show is two hours which is nice and long. I’ve been oscillating on what tracks to play. Some of the artists I’m playing may even get spun twice as it’s been hard to choose. This week I picked up the new album from the National – Sleep Well Beast. So I’ll have to play something off of that. I have also discovered a new guy (to me) called Joshua Lee. He’s right up my street.

In Other News – T-shirts & More

Well, while I am here I should mention what has been taking up all my spare time – Ralph Says Things and the various social media channels attached to that. Check out the picture of my friend Joan, the founder of JL Formulations, wearing dad’s hashtag (#JSSAMO) t-shirt off of Cafe Press.

I appreciate the support so very much. If you’d like to support him, please give him a follow here:

So you can support Ralph by either buying some sort of there merch via the links above, or simply by following him.

Sleep time! Radio show kicks off in 24 hours…Excited!

Radio Show Airs Tonight

Tonight is my return to the Scottish Airwaves after several years. I’ve been “Crowd-Sourcing” tracks to play on my radio show…via Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook and the like.

Though it’s Celtic Music Radio – my radio show won’t be too “Celtic” – if I am being honest. It will be more 70s-now pop, rock, indie, acoustic, ambient, dance, unsigned and a bit of folk and Celtic periodically.

Share your top Scottish tracks - Celtic Music Radio

Will post the playlist after the show. Looking forward to it. It sort of feels like old times…the difference being that more than twenty years have passed since the last time I did a show like this. That means there are over twenty years worth of songs to include in the mix.

If you’re a singer, songwriter or band in Scotland or from Scotland or coming to Scotland then hit me up. I’d love to hear from you and have a listen to your music and possibly play it.

Back to the planning for tonight’s radio show…

My Big Week – #29Social and a Return to Radio

Well this is a big week for me. Frankly I am actually a little overwhelmed but in a good way, I guess. You see in 48 (and a bit) hours, #29Social will be kicking off at 29 Private Members Club in Glasgow. It’s a night of social networking, short talks, a few drinks and nibbles. It’s third one I’ve run but the last one was 18 or more months ago. There have already been around 50 who have RSVPd where they are supposed to. There are more than 80 who say they’re coming on 29’s Facebook Event page.

The last ones were fabulous and I am sure this one will be even bigger and better.

Forever Young @Mcphabbs

Also this week, I’ve started to promote the 80s music night that I am hosting at McPhabbs next month. Bank Holiday Sunday – 24/5. We’ll be playing all kinds of cool, 80s bands (and yes there were some…many actually)

Have been asking people on Social Media to share their favourite track from the decadent decade! If you are in Glasgow or within traveling distances please feel free to pop along and simply click the image to RSVP over on Facebook. If you have a fave 80s track feel free to comment below and I’ll see if I can play it on the night!

Return to Radio

Yippeee! It’s true! I’m back! I did a big ole blog about my radio show over on Linkedin yesterday, so I don’t want to rehash what I said over there. Suffice it to say, I am back on air from this Sunday night at 8pm. I’ll be playing all kinds of music from Scotland and in Scotland. In other words, my favourite Scottish tracks and any relevant acts who may be coming to Scotland to play live. That keeps it pretty broad. And though it’s on Celtic Music Radio there will be little, if any, “traditional music” on my show. I’ll be saving that for actual Scots!

Music of Scotland - Thea on Celtic Music Radio in Glasgow

I haven’t had time to really focus on a playlist but can tell you I am considering tracks from the new Gun record and Admiral Fallow too. The rest will remain to be seen…Any suggestions on Scottish tracks for my show? Place them in the comments below.

Still doing the #5x50Chal too…Yesterday was a 40-min run (a best for this challenge) and today a walk before the sleet arrived. Feeling pretty good over all. Hope you are too!
