Canva Create 2025, My 11th Canvaversary & Other Exciting Updates

This year is already picking up speed, and there’s plenty to celebrate! In this update, I’m talking Canva Create 2025 (happening in LA on April 10th), my 11th Canvaversary this week, and an April Fool’s Day “Lunch and Learn”. Plus, I’ve got a cool update or two and a question for you. Whether you’re a Canva newbie or a seasoned pro, there’s something here for everyone—so stick around!

First Up: My Canvaversary

What is it? Simply my way of marking 11 years of creating, teaching, and exploring all things Canva. To celebrate, I’m hosting a Canvaversary Party, and you’re invited!

* When? – 19th February at 7pm UK / 11am Pacific
* Where? – Live on Zoom
* What’s Happening? – A mix of live demos (always a bit nail-biting!), a look at some AI-powered tools & Canva Apps, and a chance for quick-fire Q&A.

I’ve previously blogged about how Canva Changed My Life.

“Look Great, Get Found” – Full Day Workshop

Exciting news! I’m putting the finishing touches on a full-day, in-person workshop in Paisley at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

Teaming up with my brilliant friend Janine Marriott SEO School, we’ll be covering everything from Canva graphics (that’s me!) to SEO strategies (that’s Janine!), plus blogging insights from both of us.

With 20+ years of blogging experience, I’ve seen the landscape evolve dramatically—but one thing never changes: write for the reader. This workshop, taking place at the end of March, will be a fun, practical deep dive for Scottish businesses looking to boost their online presence. Price will be £150 (with an early bird rate annoucing soon) Stay tuned for more details soon! ?

Next Up: Lunch and Learn at Collabor8te (No Fooling!)

On April 1st, I’ll be hosting a half-hour Canva demo at Collabor8te Co-Working Space in Glasgow—perfect for a quick lunchtime creativity boost. It’s a chance to see Canva in action, have a play, and ask questions. I’ve put together a poll to see what attendees most want to cover, so if you’re coming along, drop a comment or message me for the poll link.

Canva Workshops in the Scottlish Highlands

Exciting news! I’ve been approached to run in-person Canva workshops in the Scottish Highlands, and if there’s enough interest, I’ll be packing up my laptop for a Highland Canva Training Tour.

These half-day sessions will focus on key areas like social media content, presentations, videos, and Print on Demand—not beginner basics.

If you want hands-on Canva training in Scotland, let me know! A poll is coming soon to help shape the sessions.

Before we lock in locations and dates, I’d love your input. A poll will be going up soon to help shape the sessions—so if you’d be keen to join, let me know what you’d like to learn!

Not sure yet if this will happen before or after Canva Create 2025, but either way, watch this space!

Canva App To Try

Earlier night, I stumbled across a Canva App that’s pretty cool. It’s called Type Curve – wee shout out to my friend and fellow Canva Verified Expert, Roger Coles for helping me to discover this one (after I tried countless). TypeCurve gives you loads of options for “paths” (sapes, fish, stars, birds, hearts or like my snail style below). Then you can  Font, Text Colour, Font Size, Font Weight, Letter Spacing and Offset

If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly recommend giving it a go!About Thea
