Firesides with Founders: Hadas Avidro Goldin

Welcome to another brief interview in my series of ‘Five Minute Firesides with Founders’. Today it’s with the lovely Hadas Avidro Goldin from I Can Canva. My intention with this series is to feature some amazing business owners from around the world. Learn about their business and any tips and tools they have to share. In case you’ve missed them, I’ve already done two Firesides with Founders in Print on Demand (See this post with Cindy and this one with Tammie). This is the first one with a fellow Canva Ambassador (CCC).

What’s your company name?

I Can Canva

Where are you based?

Israel

Tell us about your background.

I am a graphic designer. I’ve owned a small business in the years 2001-2010 named “Candy Fashion” a candy bouquet factory. It was a sheltered factory employing people with mental illnesses. My business won 1st place in the Israeli Small Business awards in 2008, out of 771 small businesses that entered. I have a B.A degree in Communications and Management.

How did you first discover Canva and when did you join?

I heard about Canva only in 2019 while having a pedicure. I wasn’t too impressed and thought it was for non-designers only, not for me…BUT I gave it a go when I was short of time and had to deliver a design to a client. I soon understood that it is much bigger than I thought and quickly fell in love with the tool.

When did you become a CCC?

2019. What I like best is being the first to know what new features are coming out and being able to test them out.

What are you fave features or what do you love most about Canva?

I love the background remover, of course, but I think my most valuable one is not a feature rather an indication “ALL CHANGES SAVED” As a graphic designer the “forgot” to hit the save button too many times and lost her work, I cherish this every single time I design.

Please share a few non-Canva tools or resources that you recommend for business owners especially. (Websites, blogs, apps etc)

I love using Snapseed for photo editing. I am also a self-taught video editor so I love editing tools. I use PowerDirector. I love window shopping for inspiration on Pinterest.

Tell us about Your Canva Business. How do you make money using Canva? (Training, courses, templates, influencer etc)

I have a FB community with over 14k members (at the moment). I have digital online Canva courses in both Hebrew and English. I also do offline and online Canva workshops for businesses, government offices, agencies, and other groups.

Where can people find more about you online?

I can be found on my I Can Canva Youtube channel or in my I Can Canva Facebook group (in Hebrew but easily translated).

In Summary

It’s been such a pleasure to have Hadas Avidro Goldin from I Can Canva stop by my blog. I absolutely love the content she creates. I’ve been recommending her Video Course on my blog and in my workshops since she first launched it. I took it and learned a lot. The beauty of being Canva ambassadors is that we all have unique businesses that promote Canva. Some are educators, some Youtubers, some creators creating templates (some do all of the above).
